The retail shop managed to pursuade Nikon to replace my w300 after it froze underwater a few times. I haven't had a chance to try the newcamera yet as I haven't been diving but there is currently a firmware update adressing "The camera would sometimes freeze when turned on underwater".

Unfortunately, the new camera froze underwater and I missed a close up of an Eagle Ray. I really wanted this camera to be successful as, for a rugged point and shoot, the photo quality is good. So I've had a good grumble at Nikon: want my money back ... county court ... grumble grumble.
