Grinton Smelt Mill and Chimney. The chimneys were built up the slope of a hill so that a much longer chimney could be had giving a better draught to the smelting hearth.

I used to love walking in this area of North Yorkshire. I usually walked alone but here's a picture of my wife and I in the fells above Gunnerside.
