Hello.

I just thought that some members of the old Fuji site should know that Ben Barker died on the 8th of this month after a short illness.

His funeral was today and Marc Horner (who ran the Fuji site) told me that the funeral was very well attended for in his words "for a remarkable man".

Sorry to have passed on this sad news but I thought you should know.   :(

Steve

Remember the name well from the old Fuji days. Sad news. Wonder how many others are no longer with us.  Remember well how many contributed for a memorial seat for a Fuji member. That was one of the lovely things about the old site we felt we 'knew' people as it was a very active site.

@Elaine - The seat you remember was for David Twitty and it was Steve Ransome who organised it and went to see it when it was installed in the church grounds if I remember correctly

Yes Margaret that's right I am hopeless at remembering names, I do recall he was always the first one to enter the prize competition and he always commented on my entries and lots and lots of others, as did a great number of the members throughout the site. The comments of which greatly improved my photography and am sure it did for  many others. As I recall the way the site was set up as you opened it there were loads of photos to be seen and the famous or infamous scrolling photos which we all strived to get on!!!!
