right now heres the story......
I worked at a garden center ....got my first dslr camera in 2010
the joys of facebook saw me uploading pics and people like them
thought ....ooooo got quite a good eye for this
baring my brother is the forum god on here we both obviously quite arty
so 2012 came and i walked out of my job ....not a client to my name
did alot of free work, no training ......did my first wedding in may that year then boom....
ive worked and worked and worked
ive done wedding in Gibraltar then last year i was on bbc dont tell the bride
did london fashion week
all sounds glam
but all my indoor shoots you see posted here are taken in a 12ft x 16ft shed in my garden with continuous lighting off ebay
i love to play and learn new stuff but do it alone ......i borrow kids and models (not paid or professional)
i practice as well as shooting nearly every day
i have 35 weddings this year and now as of today 26 for next year , im cover a high school prom this year too
so the moral of this story is ....if you want to do it or its in you to do it will happen , i never wanted to do this for a living but thing happen for a reason
I have two young boys and its demanding ....but as im getting more bookings and my prices are going up i can slacken off
its all about enjoying your work ....when it becomes just a job...a means for cash...time to go back to asda and stack shelves
luckily im a very grounded person......i could do anything and not care , ill not change
but im sure theres alot of you on here that may thing "oooo darent take that leap"...."ooo im not good enough"........everyone starts somewhere, i started at the bottom, these guys on here helped me loads and main man the bro, jayne bob and moz have always stuck by me 100% .....
so get shooting enjoy and progress slowly and do it yourself ...its alot more rewarding in the long run  :)

Knowing your way around a camera is necessary I guess. but IMO an eye for the shot is paramount and you've got it in spades Sal. Thanks for upping a few of your pics especially my favourite one of the beautiful young lady with the roses in her hair. It could grace any glossy mag's front page.
