2/ code smilies in to quick editor

What's the attraction of FB??

F-connect is one of the fastest growing registration methods, because it simply uses facebook details to register you with any site, in just 2 clicks. And as much as I hate facebook for it's photography groups etc, it's still one of the biggest free publicity tools there is. Plus I think we are one of the only photography based sites that actually run our forums within facebook itself, as well as an independent site.

Do you have to put posts on it? cos it clutters up my FB home page with stuff I see on here.

You can opt out of seeing them on Facebook Moz. Simply click on "Hide all from Chat Photography" ;-)

Noticed that already Chris but why do it, does it serve a purpose or is it just advertising?

It's a mixture of good links back to the site, advertising (kind of), and also the ability to inform people of new topics via facebook/facebook mobile, if they don't visit regular etc. The only forums that post "New topics" to facebook, are the image sharing forums, main photography discussion, and this Announcement forum. I left the rest out, as I don't think people need updates on jokes, general topics, and such things lol ;-)

As a bloke with time on his hands I suppose I'm one of the few who can check the 'New Posts' every few minutes so don't miss anything :) about the only thing I'd like is for the forum to update automatically when open rather than my refreshing the page to see latest posts but that's just me being lazy so don't take any notice :)

I've noticed just lately, Chris, that when I click on an image I get a little box asking me what I want to open it with.
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to his country for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.'

Belay that chris, it seems to have sorted itself out.   It's probably this ultra slow lappy I'm using at the moment.

You may just have been hitting an image, as I was editing the highslide script to make it work on the black theme ;-)

Something odd about the image display Chris, I had some photos linked from flickr at 640 size, but the forum upsized them inline. It's even doing something to my 800px images when viewed inline, makes the quality look a bit pants.

edit... testing... this is a 640 width image from flickr

Looks the same. Must be the image viewer, can it be made so it only activated on images over a certain width/size?

Hows that now?
It shouldn't touch anything of 640px longest side ;-)

Chris, when uploading images on here do we still need to stick to the previous size or does it now allow larger files? If so what is the limit now?  Thanks Viv
