The winner has been selected, and will be announced once the winners details have been received by Arcsoft, and the software licence details confirmed.

What I haven't told any of you yet,,,,,,, is,,,,,,, I was the only judge in this contest ^-^ Having gone through all the entries, there was one image that I kept on going back to. And to me, if an image makes you want to look at it again and again, it is a good image.
I will give more detailed reasons why I selected this image, once the winners name is announced, in the next few days ;)

A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to his country for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.'

got to say it was an image that attracted me too. Remember as mods on the forum that shall not be mentioned, Chris, where we took it in turns to pick an image of the week or month , I used to always look for an image that had that certain something that others posted didnt. had this been that other forum and it been my turn to pick, I'd like to think I would choose this image. The image for me attracts me because its powerful, emotive and also, its one of my favourite planes. The Harrier- a plane that was retired wrongly in my opinion because its one of the finest planes we ever made and now the Yanks are getting the best out of the best whilst we didnt bother.
Please dont hold back.Im here to learn and to learn you have to listen to the mistakes you have made,so tell me!

Right, the reasons why I chose this image>
Given the theme was "Low light", I was looking initially for something that fitted the theme, as well as something that caught my eye. For me, it had that dawn/dusk lighting that just gives images a whole new feel. The added bonus is, you are  getting light from a low angle, which is basically another twist on the theme. The image seems to capture both the outline detail of the aircraft, and the heat haze shimmering out the background, which couldn't have been timed better if you begged for it. Because the image is almost a silhouette, where the light is catching it, it makes you want to look closer for more detail in the shadows.

I would just like to add that there were 3 images, from 3 different people, in the running for this. So an honourable mention needs to go out to Craig (Bend the light) for his first image "Katarina - CM" and Andy (Andyst) for his second image "comp-3". It was a very close call, and it came down to which image made me want to go back for more, and what I'd "personally" hang on my wall. There is nothing between the two images, to say which I'd say was 2nd or 3rd, as they both have different qualities that draw you in.

If that gives you a bit of an insight in to my thinking, can you please explain it to my Mrs, as she's been trying to work me out for 17 years :)) :)) :))

Lee, you will be pleased to know I didn't even get chance to send Arcsoft all your details etc, they have sent me your licence this morning, after seeing the announcement on the forum. So I will send it on to you when I get back (later today), with the download link etc  ;)
Well done again ;-)
