First longish ride on the new bike yesterday, did just over 230 miles and stopped along the way to take one or two photos. Not brilliant as they were taken on my old Canon A650 compact with helmet & gloves still on! I need some new camera bags so I can carry the SLR and lenses in my topbox, the big bag won't fit in there.

Bike is brilliant, not the fastest thing I've ever ridden but it handles good enough for bit of "back lane scratching" yet sits at 80 /90 / 100 or more on the m/way with no probs & lots in reserve. Basically it does everything it should do brilliantly and with a lot of fun factor dialed in. Averaged 64mpg and estimated tank range is 240 miles - brilliant for a bike and a world apart from the Harley which just about managed 25mpg on a good day. Don't half miss the low down grunt of that thing - wouldn't want it back though  :D .

I went over that way yesterday Kenny, and stopped there hoping to get an ice cream from the aforementioned Mr Whippy geezer bloke. After trollying across the bridge in all me gear the bugger wasn't there - thoughtless git!    So I ended up riding to Devils Bridge near Kirby Lonsdale and buying a greasy cheeseburger there.  Stopped at Horton-in-Ribblesdale on the way home though for a nice cuppa tea.

Jayne - ta for your kind comment - really must get the camera bag situation sorted though so's I can take the SLR out with me
