Hi guys

I hope nobody minds me posting this again but I had some good news today. When we came back from NYC after the uni trip, all who went were asked to submit a photo they had taken for our wall of fame in T5- which is where Ba honours students are allowed to exhibit their work. There were 22 images in total and these were all framed and mounted professionally. What I didnt know at the time was that Tyrone, our main tech decided to run a uni wide comp where anyone on the uni could come up and look at the images and vote on which image they thought was the best. The winner got £30 worth of printing credits and the second place got £20 and so on and so forth.  Wasnt in the best of moods this morning for reasons I wont go into and really didnt feel like going into uni( havent felt I wanted to for a few weeks) and was stopped by Ty who who told me I had come second place in this comp and had masses of votes and have won a £20 printing credit at uni. Sp here is the image I submitted...

Which was taken in Times Square in NYC the day after I had had to stay in bed I had been really ill with my back, and I forced myself to go out with friends that night and it was the best night ever because I got totally roariously drunk after taking this photo in an Irish bar at the bottom of the Strip there. This image is one that reminds me of the good time I actually had in NYC and its hard to believe that its now nearly seven months since I went there. I was really pleased that so many people had taken the time to come up and not only view the images, but to vote on mine. It hasnt changed my thoughts on a few things but today at least, it cheered me up.

Thanks for looking.

I like the angle and the composition, but I'm not keen on the pp. It looks a little HDR-ish

doesnt look HDR on the original and I didnt do HDR on it. The original is 35 megs in size and this is 300K so think lots of it is down to the compression. When it was printed it looked great. Sorry it looks so pants crunched down. :(

it looks lovely kenny, colours are extremely vibrant - in a good way - and you should be very proud that you went.

Now crack the mountain dew open and celebrate your achievement, fabulous result :)

Well done Kenny.
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to his country for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.'

Well done Kenny and very nice image.  :good:

Not generally very keen on wonky angles but it seems to work here and gives the image more dynamism (I think that's the word I am looking for  )
Cheers Col
